Remon sees rising demand for surface water treatment systems
Remon is increasingly receiving requests for our surface water treatment solution, the TITAN® UF. The TITAN® UF is capable of purifying virtually any type of surface water to the desired quality. The demand for surface water purification is growing due to restrictions on groundwater extraction in certain areas and the refusal of drinking water connections for large-scale users. In some cases, groundwater has also become too saline, making it an unsuitable option.
The TITAN® UF is the ideal solution. Combined with Remon’s patented HYDRA® self-floating intake system and the Orbis disk filter, any type of surface water, both fresh and saline, can be purified into process water, irrigation water, drinking water for livestock or even potable water for human consumption. Limited space or no suitable installation area? No problem. Remon can deliver the complete system ready-to-use in a specially outfitted shipping container.
Recently, Remon commissioned two new TITAN® UF installations. The first for Landbouwbedrijf Van Os in Uithuizermeeden and the second for VOF Oudijk-Tinholt in Zeewolde.
For Van Os in Uithuizermeeden, Remon installed a TITAN® UF ultrafiltration unit which, together with a Remon HYDRA®, a Remon Orbis 200 disk filter and a TITAN® Compact, purifies surface water into drinking water suitable for poultry and other applications. This installation was supplied because the local groundwater in Uithuizermeeden is too saline and Van Os was unable to obtain a drinking water connection.
At VOF Oudijk-Tinholt in Zeewolde, Remon supplied an insulated 20 ft shipping container equipped with a TITAN® UF ultrafiltration system, an Orbis 200 disk filter, two clean-water tanks, a UV system and a pressure boosting unit. The container is connected to the HYDRA® self-floating intake point positioned in the canal, which collects and supplies the surface water. VOF Oudijk-Tinholt uses the purified surface water as drinking water for their dairy cattle. Since deeper groundwater drilling is no longer permitted in the Zeewolde region and the drinking water company preferred not to provide a mains connection, VOF Oudijk-Tinholt turned to Remon for a solution.
