Lawter chooses upgraded Triplex Highflow ion exchange system and REM4000 parallel deferrization system from Remon
Lawter is a globally operating chemical company and part of the Japanese Harima Chemicals Group. The company develops and supplies bio-based pine resin products for industries such as the graphic arts, adhesives, specialty coatings, aroma chemicals, and synthetic rubber. With over 70 years of experience, Lawter focuses on sustainable chemistry and innovation.
Last week, Remon delivered the new water treatment installation for Lawter’s site in Maastricht.
Lawter’s previous water treatment system had become outdated and was due for replacement. Remon installed a parallel setup of two REM4000 deferrization units alongside the recently upgraded Triplex Highflow ion exchanger. Together, these installations soften, aerate, and deiron the source water. New submersible pumps were also installed in the existing wells to pump the source water through a well hydro-pump to the treatment units. The entire process can be monitored and adjusted both on-site and remotely using Remon’s proprietary NT controller® system. Lawter uses the purified water as process water for pine resin processing.

With the new installation, Lawter can once again rely on an ample supply of purified well water for customized process water.
